WHAT ABOUT BOB?
Meet a Veteran Stand-Up Comic with Over 35 Years of Entertainment Experience
Robert G. Lee has spent more than three decades making people laugh—on stage, on screen, and behind the scenes of television’s most iconic sitcoms. After a storied childhood in Indiana, he moved to Hollywood and got his big break on Golden Girls. Soon he was regularly booked on the best of network TV, spending the next two decades as Hollywood’s most trusted warm-up comedian.
His lightning-quick ad-libs and knack for keeping audiences engaged for hours made him the first choice of TV’s most respected producers, leading to over 1,500 episodes of hit shows like Cheers, Becker, Two and a Half Men, Old Christine, The Hogan Family, Perfect Strangers, Wings, Step by Step, Just Shoot Me, The Drew Carey Show, Rules of Engagement, Mom, Last Man Standing, and One Day at a Time. Along the way, he built relationships and earned praise from television legends including Ted Danson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Norman Lear.
The star of more than ten 100% clean comedy specials, Robert’s stand-up has been featured on DryBar Comedy, Bananas, Showtime’s The Joke’s On Thee, and VH1’s Stand Up Spotlight. His material is a staple on SIRIUS radio’s Pure Comedy channel, with monthly plays in the thousands. He’s also written scripts for the beloved animated series VeggieTales—an ideal outlet for his playful humor and gift for storytelling with a moral center.
Warm-up is live comedy at its most challenging and rewarding, and Robert is one of the best in the business. Performing for a crowd of 200 or 2,000, he brings professionalism, clean humor, and a rare ability to genuinely connect in the moment. His sharp wit and thoughtful, family-friendly storytelling have earned him repeat bookings across the country. Audiences get both the polish of a seasoned professional and the spark of someone who genuinely loves to perform.

Robert is a True Multi-Hyphenate
Offstage, Robert’s Monty Pythonesque sensibility has lent itself to episodes he’s written for Veggie Tales videos such as “Little Joe,” “Gideon” and “Sheerluck Holmes,” and the animated show 3-2-1 Penguins.
He’s also the author of two books: What’s the Big Idea?, a smart aleck's commentary on the intersection between faith and science, and Perceval the Altruistic, a Princess Bride-like fairytale that reimagines loss, struggle and the search for meaning in a medieval take on the story of Job.
Robert wrote and directed the full-length faith-based screwball comedy Can I Get a Witness Protection? Jack witnessed a mob murder, so the FBI relocates him and his wife, Julie, to a place the gangsters will never look: he's Associate Pastor at a half-dead church in Fresno. On Jack's first Sunday, the Senior Minister keels over dead in the pulpit. Can a fake minister be the answer to the church's prayers?

High Praise Indeed
“If you do not fall in love with Robert Lee by the end of the night, come see me personally afterwards and I'll ask, “What the heck's wrong with you?”
—Norman Lear, TV Statesman and Producer of “One Day At A Time”
“I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a comedian more. It takes a great talent to be funny in a clean way in our culture, and boy, Robert, you scored tonight.”
—Josh McDowell, author and speaker
“The audience loves him, the writers and crew love him. Being a warm up requires a certain lack of self-preoccupation because you’re serving the show, and Robert is willing to do that.”
—Deborah Oppenheimer, Executive Producer, “The Drew Carey Show”
“I’m still receiving reports of how excited and appreciative people were as a result of his time here. Robert bridges the generation gap incredibly well. My 15-year-old thought he was hysterical as well as the oldest couple there.”
—Bernie McGraw, Fine Arts Pastor, South Hills Assembly, Bethel Park, PA
